Group Exhibition 'Food Matters'

We all have a strong connection with food. We are dependent on it for basic survival, it can fill us with joy and a sense of bliss when we eat ‘comfort’ or ‘favorite’ foods. The food industry is also a multi-billion dollar industry. As the topic of food is becoming increasingly complex — on an individual level, yet also on a much larger socio-political and economic scale, the eight artists who are participating in this exhibition pose questions about ‘Food Matters’ today – with themes ranging from food safety to capitalism, mythology, and hegemonism. Complex and uniquely personal, this exhibition is literally a feast for the senses, with its diverse viewpoints and interpretations of shared common need that connects all human beings.
